Use this checklist to verify you have completed all the steps required to achieve your eligibility. You should start this process at the beginning of your Grade 11 year.
- Take the right High School courses: Don’t know yet where you’re going? That’s OK! but in order to make sure you don’t burn any bridges you should be tracking your academic eligibility from grade 9 onward to ensure you meet the most restrictive guidelines (which are for NCAA Division I) You can use our Academic Eligibility tracking worksheet in the Activity Centre to help you keep tabs on your progress. Grades matter! So take care of your academic health.
- Complete the registration process with the NCAA eligibility centre (www.eligibilitycentre.org)
- Ask your high school to send your transcripts to the eligibility Centre at the end of your Grade 11 year (gr9-11). Getting these transcripts done first insures that there are no hold ups due to things outside of your control (inaccurate filing at the school board for example).
- Take the SAT or ACT and use the code 9999 to have your official scores sent directly to the Eligibility Centre. If you know which schools you will be applying too you can also add the school codes and have the scores sent directly to admissions.
- Check with your high school to make sure you are on track to graduate on time with your classes, double check that you have the required amount of core courses – Access Sport can help verify this
- Ask your high school to submit your FINAL transcripts and proof of graduation as soon as possible after graduation
