What is the Cost of University?

According to the NCAA.org:

“The average value of a full scholarship at an in-state, public school is $15,000 a year. For an out-of-state public school, the average value is $25,000 a year. Full scholarships at private schools average $35,000 a year. The real value of athletics scholarships is intangible. Without them, many student-athletes would be unable to pursue their athletics and academic dreams.”
It is worth noting that while schools in Canada are not able to offer the same high value of scholarship as NCAA schools do, that tuition in Canada is substantially less expensive overall.

In Canada Shaw Media / Global news published an infographic in September 2014 showing average tuition costs per province, you can see that tuition is on average about HALF of what a full scholarship is in the United States.  Ontario has the highest average at $7539.00  You can read the full associated article here

In addition, Here is an article in the Financial Post that speaks to the additional fees being added to Canadian tuitions across the country, and the impact to students.  Even with the addition of these fees, total cost to attend school in Canada is less.
